World Music Collective

Special Guest World Music Collective

Our special guests for The Holiday Show this year will be World Music Collective. They are a mixed instrumentation chamber ensemble representing diverse musical heritages with improvisation as a common theme. Each member is an internationally recognized performer, composer, and improviser based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Performing a blend of jazz, world music, and contemporary styles, their focus includes entertainment, education, and social justice. Their members include Grammy-nominated Noah Getz, sitar player Snehesh Nag,  Argentine-American guitarist/composer/arranger Christian Perez, drummer Advait Shah, and Karine Chapdelaine.

AUDITIONS

There’s something beautiful about synchronized choir vocals.

The marriage between voice types produces a sound that’s hard to imitate. When we mix the gravelly boom of a second bass with the fierce clarity of a first tenor, the end result is pure magic. The next round of auditions will be December 7 and 8.

While we take great pride in musicianship, as well as our roots as an LGBTQ+ chorus, we’ve since evolved to be more inclusive. So wherever you fall on the rainbow, we invite you to audition. The only requisite is this: You’re a tenor, baritone, or bass who loves to sing.
